An optimization method of torque distribution for four wheels controlled independently was proposed to improve the drive system efficiency under the stable conditions. Both electric vehicle(EV)stability and EV fuel economy were considered in the efficiency target index. The solution of the target index was derived under the constraint conditions of sway torque requirement
maximum adhesion
and maximum driving force. The simulation analysis was performed with MATLAB. The simulation results show that the optimized distribution can reduce the energy consumption obviously and increase the system efficiency under the stable conditions.
