Referring to the time delay in magnetorheological(MR)damper control systems
an efficient structural semi-active control strategy based on genetic algorithm(GA)is proposed for controlling a time-delay system and regulating its behavior under different objectives. A mechanical model for the MR damper is constructed to deduce the relationship between damper force and applied current
and a novel control algorithm with GA is also proposed for mitigating the response of dynamical systems efficiently. A numerical example of a three-floor frame with damper is given to verify the feasibility and efficiency of the proposed strategy.
