A TY1100 diesel engine was retrofitted with an electronic-controlled methanol injection system so that it can work with dual fuel
i.e
the methanol-air mixture can beignited by pilot diesel. The orthogonal tests were conducted to investigate the effects of intake methanol ratio on energy consumption and emissions. The results show that the optimal methanol ratio was55%-60% for achieving the minimum energy consumption under different operating conditions. The ratio over 50% could lead to the reduction of the smoke. Because of the limitation of pressure rise rate
