Steady-State Transfer Performance Analysis of a Multi-Load Pseudo-Hermitian Wireless Power Transfer System
To address the increased system cost caused by the high quality-factor requirements for coupled coils in multi-load parity-time(PT)-symmetric wireless power transfer(WPT)systems
a multi-load pseudo-Hermitian WPT system with mutually decoupled receivers is proposed.A dual-load pseudo-Hermitian system is taken as an example.By setting the natural resonant frequency of the transmitter higher than that of the receivers and using Bang-Bang control to operate the system in the target eigenmode within the strong-coupling region
the effect of PT-symmetry breaking on the steady-state transfer performance is investigated.Theoretical results show that the energy amplitude of the receiver-side resonant network is higher than that of the transmitter-side under steady-state conditions
thereby improving the energy distribution between the two sides.Compared with the PT-symmetric WPT system
the improved energy distribution reduces the adverse effect of the AC resistance of the transmitter coil on the transfer efficiency
resulting in higher transfer efficiency.Compared with the single-load pseudo-Hermitian system
the strongcoupling region is extended when two loads are charged simultaneously
and this conclusion can be extended to multi-load pseudo-Hermitian systems.Experimental results show that even with a low-quality-factor transmitter coil
the steady-state transfer efficiency of the dual-load system is increased from 82.7% to 89.9% by breaking PT symmetry and improving the energy distribution between the two sides. Thus
within the strong-coupling region
a transfer efficiency comparable to that of a PT-symmetric system using a high-quality-factor transmitter coil is achieved.
