Guide for Authors

1. Journal of Xi’an Jiaotong University calls for papers worldwide. Papers of original research work submitted to the journal should focus on the disciplines of Energy and Power Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Communication and Control Engineering, Computer Science, Materials Science and Engineering Mechanics, and should be supported by the government grants (the provincial level or above).

2. The journal operates a double-blind review process. All contributions will be first assessed by the editors for suitability for the journal. Papers deemed suitable will be sent to a minimum of two independent expert reviewers to assess the scientific quality of the papers. The editors will re-review the revised papers and the Editor-in-Chief is responsible for the final decision on acceptance or rejection of papers (Fig. 1). The review on scientific quality will focus on research fronts and the innovativeness of the research work.

3. Peer review is free of charge and publishing fee will be charged after paper acceptance. The papers with favorable ratings and the papers reporting research fronts are free for publication. The deletion, addition or reorder of author names in the authorship list, and paper revision could only be made before publication.

4. Upon acceptance of papers, the authors will be asked to sign a “Copyright Transfer Agreement”. The journal is included in the China Academic Periodicals (CD-ROM), China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wanfang Data, CEPS, etc. If authors would not like their articles to be included in the databases mentioned above, an express written letter should be submitted in the initial submission stage.

5. The editor will generally make decisions in 2.5-4 months after initial submission. The paper will then be published within 12 months (an average of 8.5 months) after acceptance.
