Study on Influencing Factors and Critical Conditions of Gouging Wear on Rocket Sled
The mechanism of the influencing factors on the gouging wear phenomenon in rocket sled tests is unclear
and the critical conditions are difficult to define. Based on the finite element method
a unique three-dimensional gouging wear model is established to simulate this process in a thermally coupled field. The simulation results show that under the initial heading speed and temperature conditions
gouging wear occurs when the vertical speed reaches 1.75 m·s
-1
or above; Under the initial heading speed and vertical speed conditions
gouging wear occurs w
hen the temperature reaches 673 K or above. Under the initial heading speed condition
the gouging wear rate increases with the increase of vertical speed and temperature. When the heading speed increases from 1 200 m·s
-1
to 1 800 m·s
-1
the critical vertical speed increases from 1.65 m·s
-1
to 3.00 m·s
-1
the critical temperature increases from 673 K to 873 K
and the critical angle increases from 0.079 ° to 0.096 °. By reducing the vertical velocity and temperature of the slippers
it is effective to avoid gouging wear. The research congtributes to theoretical understanding of the gouging wear mechanism in rocket sled tests
and offers insights for avoiding gouging wear and improving the safety of the test.
