To suppress the main electromagnetic force wave of an axial permanent magnet motor
the rule of stator tooth's auxiliary slot position is obtained analytically to attempt to weaken the main electromagnetic force wave effectively for two types of axial permanent magnet motor with different main electromagnetic force wave sources. Following the rule of auxiliary slot position on the 16-pole 24-slot or 30-pole 27-slot axial permanent magnet motor with different main electromagnetic force wave source
the effects of stator tooth auxiliary slot width and depth on the main electromagnetic force wave are analyzed respectively. The electromagnetic noise and torque characteristics of the two types of axial permanent magnet motor with stator tooth auxiliary slot are evaluated by finite element model
and the results show that the main electromagnetic force wave amplitudes of these motors are lowered by 38% and 76% respectively
and the electromagnetic noise is reduced by more than 3 dB
meanwhile the output performance of the motors decreases by no more than 3%.
