Numerical Simulation for Temperature Field of Short Electric Arc Milling Process of Nickel-Based Alloy GH4169
Taking the nickel-based alloy GH4169 as the research object
numerical simulation of short electric arc milling process was carried out. A mathematical model of temperature field in short electric arc milling of nickel-based alloy GH4169 was established by selecting suitable Gaussian surface heat source
body heat source and thermal boundary conditions
and then the formation of the molten pool
temperature contour and temperature distribution were obtained in the short electric arc milling process. According to the temperature contour
the three regions(gasification zone
melt-solidification zone and heat-affected zone)formed between the short arc discharge channel and the matrix material were determined. The short electric arc milling tentative was carried out with the same process parameters
and the whole process was monitored by infrared thermal imager. The monitoring data was processed by FLIR R&D software
and the three-node thermal cycle curve was extracted. The temperature trend coincides well with the simulations. The range of each region formed between the discharge channel and the substrate observed on the temperature imaging cloud map is essentially consistent with the temperature contour
which verifies the correctness of the established model and thus provides a theoretical basis for basic issues such as removal characteristics
surface quality
and micro-topography in the short electric arc milling process.
