A new f u--y logic cont rol model for signali-ed intersection is proposed
where t he<br />efficiency and the fairness of t raffic are considered simultaneously during t he cont rol process. The<br />model is composed of two sub cont roller s. When current green time is over
green p hase<br />cont roller evaluates all lanes-t raffic urgency degrees in t he light of t he number of vehicles and<br />t he average waiting time
and t hen t he next green p hase get s to be selected by t his cont roller in<br />conformity of the t raffic urgency degrees. The green time of t he next green p hase is determined<br />by green time cont roller according to the t raffic sit uation of the lane on which t he current number<br />of vehicles is t he largest among t hose lanes t hat belong to t his p hase. Compared with vehicle<br />actuated cont rol and Pappis-model
t he simulation result s show t hat t he cont rol effect s are<br />similar under t he condition of spar se t raffic flux ; and t
