A new T2junction type dist ributor which is different f rom t he conventional T2junction<br />was designed. The dist ributor was composed of eight small holes wit h a diameter of 3. 5 mm on<br />t he pipe wall and a ring casing mounted out side of t hese holes. The gas2liquid mixt ure f rom t hese<br />small holes will flow t hrough t he side arm of the dist ributor . Experiment s were conducted in a<br />hori-ontal gas2liquid two2p hase loop to study t he split of annular flow. The result s show t hat t he<br />liquid preferentially enters t he side arm. In comparison
gas is more easily diverted into the side<br />arm for t raditional T2junction. A model was developed to predict t he flow split ting characteristics<br />of hori-ontal air2water annular flow. The model was based on t he assumption t hat the liquid film<br />passing t hrough t he small holes would be capt ured and enter the side arm eventually.
