a<br />met rics based task granularity design model is const ructed employing the cohesion conception of<br />modulari-ed design in sof tware engineering. A new qualitative analysis met hod is provided for<br />task granularity design according to t he formuli-ed calculation and heuristic rules comparison.<br />The incidence mat rix of activity unit s is chosen to calculate t he number s of cont rolling element s to<br />improve t he efficiency and rate of get ting cohesion coefficient s. And t he properties of t he met rics<br />are analy-ed and two examples are given to verify t he feasibility and effectiveness of the model .<br />
