8 h)are systematically investigated. The XRD and SEM analyses show that all of the as-cast and ball-milled alloys consist of a single V-based solid solution phase with BCC structure. The cell volume and the particle size decrease gradually and the powder appears aggregation with the increasing ball-milling time. It is found that the ball-milling enables to improve the activation behavior of Ti
9.6
Cr
11
V

alloy effectively. With the increasing ball-milling time
the effective hydrogen storage capacity at room temperature increases first and then decreases. Ti

alloy ball-milled for 2 h is endowed with fine overall properties
whose maximum hydrogen absorption capacity and effective hydrogen storage capacity at room temperature approach to 3.7% and 2.23%
respectively.
