Limited number of trial runs in field are unable to provide enough characteristic response parameters for the holobalancing method. A new unified holobalancing method is presented. With simplified assumption made for the modal trial mass ratio and the linear response characteristic of the holobalancing technique
the transfer matrix corresponding to a certain correction plane then is extended to the trial set transfer matrix
which is related to a certain order of modal trial mass set. The number of trial runs necessary for the balancing operation is reduced and the balancing efficiency is improved. The feasibility and effectiveness of this method have been confirmed according to the analytical result of a real balancing procedure of a 300 MW turbine generator set.
