To extract the electroencephalogram(EEG)features for diagnosis of vascular dementia(VaD)
the multichannel linear descriptors are applied to analyze EEG signal recorded during an oddball visual detection task. The VaD group shows significantly higher Φ and Ω values compared with the elderly control during the task condition
and there is no obvious difference between VaD group and control in the resting state. Both the VaD group and the control show a higher Σ value and lower Φ and Ω values in task compared with that at rest. And the varying rates of the three descriptors in the resting state compared to task in VaD group are significantly larger than that in control. The multichannel linear descriptors could reflect the cognition function decline of VaD group
and thus provide a novel method for the EEG feature extraction of VaD patients.
