It is known that the conventional audio scrambling methods based on one-dimensional linear mapping have less encrypting parameters and are easy to be attacked. A new n-dimensional space audio scrambling algorithm based on random matrix is proposed to address these problems. The idea of m-ary is introduced and the audio value of each position coordinate is transformed into different dimensional space. The scrambling is completed by the high dimensional random matrix. The proposed algorithm doesn't need to compute the least recovering period
and only uses the inverse of the random matrix in Z
m
to recover the scrambled audio in real time. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm has a wonderful one time scrambling performance in arbitrary n-dimensional space with low scrambling cost and recovering costs. The algorithm is robust in enduring common attacks
