The multi-point forming(MPF)processes of spherical surface parts of titanium alloy sheet and retiary sheet with different thickness and curvature radius are simulated via an explicit finite element software. The simulation results show that the spherical surface parts formed with retiary metal sheet is not prone to wrinkle under the same condition
and better quality parts can be acquired. The analysis indicates that the non-wrinkling effect of retiary metal sheet lies in the absorption of sheet deformation via its holes. A non-wrinkling limited graph for spherical surface parts of retiary metal sheet and metal sheet is obtained. A forming test is conducted
and the results coincide well with the simulations and conform to the non-wrinkling limited graph.
