Focusing on the problem that the performance of channel estimation is influenced by spatial correlation in multiple input multiple output(MIMO)systems
a parametrical channel estimation method based on estimating multipath parameters is proposed. The proposed method can be applied to flat-fading correlated MIMO systems which employing uniform linear arrays on dual-side in sparse multipath environment. By modeling channel matrix and spatial correlation of MIMO systems with multipath parameters
channel estimation problem is converted to multipath parameters estimation
then
multipath parameters are estimated by direction of arrival-matrix algorithm. The proposed method can achieve better performance than least-square method without any prior know
ledge of spatial correlation. In simulations
compared with least-square method
when mean square error is 10
-1
the proposed method can obtain 2.5dB
5dB SNR gains for 4×4
6×6 systems respectively.
