To further improve hydrogen storage properties of the metal complex hydrides and metal-N-H compounds
LiAlH

/LiNH
2
composite is prepared by mechanical ball-milling
and their hydrogen storage properties are characterized with differential scanning calorimetry(DSC)
and thermogravimetry(TG). The results show that more than 2.6% of hydrogen is released for the LiAlH

/LiNH
2
composite during ball milling; the total hydrogen desorption capacity reaches 7% after heating to 400 ℃. In addition
the reaction mechanism of LiAlH

composite and the catalytic effect of transition metal Ti on the hydrogen storage prope
rties are investigated. It is found that the molar ratio of LiAlH

/LiNH
2
composite plays a significant role on the reaction mechanism and transition metal Ti exhibits a positive effect on the properties of the composite when the Ti content gets between 3% and 5%.
