Aiming at reducing period of numeric control part programming
a new machining feature model is proposed to remedy the drawbacks in the traditional feature models
which contains the common properties of general machining features as well as the associate information
such as manufacturing knowledge
the modular numeric control programs. Following the implementation of the modular numeric control programs
numeric control part programming is expected to flexibly perform. According to the complexity of parts
the search
variant and generative approaches can be selected and applied to the generation of numeric control programs with robustness and flexibility. The proposed scheme has been practically demonstrated by a prototype system.
