The component placement sequence and feeder arrangement are the critical factors determining assembly time of chip shooter machine. Based on the engineering analysis
an integrated optimization model of chip shooter machine is formulated
and a two-dimensional coding method is proposed with improved genetic algorithm(IGA). In the individual chromosome
the component number describes the component placement sequence
the feeder number describes the feeder arrangement
and the component type number describes the relation between the component placement sequence and feeder arrangement. The IGA with order-based crossover
adaptive mutation and local search
contains a parallel structure. The component placement sequence and the feeder arrangement are optimized simultaneously to improve the assembly efficiency.
