A new control strategy for series active power filter(SAPF)is proposed
which attempts to control the compensation voltage injected by SAPF to trace the multiple of whole line current for achieving current harmonics suppression. Since the control reference signal is directly obtained by utilizing the detected line current without calculating harmonics
the proposed strategy actually eliminates the harmonics detection process which is indispensable for conventional control methods. Compared with the conventional control methods
the proposed control is therefore much simpler and easier to implement with lower cost
and the time delay caused by complicated harmonics calculation does not exist any more. The simulated and experimental results are presented to verify the proposed control method and the performance of SAPF.
