Aiming at the radial velocity ambiguity of moving targets in conventional multi-channel synthetic aperture radar(SAR)ground moving target indication system

a new unambiguous radial velocity estimation method(JRHIP)is proposed. The method joints the range history with the interferometric phase. The multiple signal classification algorithm is used to improve the range resolution of the target image. And a unambiguous velocity with slightly low precision is obtained from the coefficient of the first order term in the polynomial that fits the range history of the target

and then is used to solve the interferometric phase ambiguity times. Then the true radial velocity is estimated by the interferometric phase with the known ambiguity time. The method combines the unambiguous characteristic of the range history and the high sensitivity of the interferometric phase

and does not increase any hardware complexity of the system. Experimental results on airborne SAR data process indicate that the method can obtain the true radial velocity and relocate the moving target with large radial velocity.
