A kind of routing protocol based on uncertain characters of mobile nodes in mobile Ad Hoc networks is proposed to improve energy efficiency and to extend lifetime of the networks with limited resources. The relevant theory of information entropy is used to measure the uncertainty of a mobile node from its value space of the neighbor nodes set and from the member distribution of the neighbor nodes set in the value space. The dynamic characteristics of wireless mobile nodes are described from the statistics and behavior
and the routing table entries are extended. The routing stability measurement values are added to record the routing stability measurement information when the node reaches the source node of the routing request packet. Simulation results show that the protocol can remarkably improve the performances of mobile Ad Hoc networks such as packet delivery ratio and packet end-to-end delay
and reduce control load overhead and energy consumption generated by frequent route reconstruction and maintenance.
