The experiments of washing insulator contamination with hot water vapor are conducted to plot the average flashover voltage and flashover gradient curves of three insulators
calculate the flashover voltage
and analyze the influencing factors of flashover voltage. The results show that the flashover voltage and flashover gradient of FXBW4-35 insulators are highest
and those of XP-70 insulators are higher than FC-70 insulators. Power function can fit the flashover voltage of composite insulators washed by hot water vapor but not an optimum fitting function
the flashover voltage of insulators washed from bottom to top gets the highest. No overvoltage occurs to ensure the system security in the washing as the equivalent salt deposit density below 4×10
