Zirconium oxide microfiltration membrane was modified by nano zinc oxide by coprecipitation. The variations of permeation flux and oil rejection of the unmodified and zinc oxide modified membranes in the oil/water separation process were discussed. The results show that the modified membrane has good microstructure
the permeation flux of zinc oxide modified membranes is higher than that of the unmodified membrane in the oil/water separation process; especially
the permeation flux of nano zinc oxide once modified microfiltration membrane increases by more 26.2% compared with that of the unmodified membrane. The oil content in the permeation of unmodified membrane does not reach the national standards after 120 min
but that of the modified membranes comes up to the national standards. And the oil rejection of the modified membranes gets higher than that of the unmodified membrane.
