To determine the relationship between the Bradley model and the Hamaker hypotheses-based adhesion model
the Hamaker hypotheses and interatomic Lennard-Jones potential are employed to obtain the interaction force between two planes. The comparison of the interaction force obtained with the interfacial Lennard-Jones potential is conducted to determine the definite relationships between the parameters of the interatomic potential and that of the interfacial potential
by which the Bradley model is expressed in terms of Hamaker constant. The definition of Hamaker constant
the Bradley model is further described by interatomic potential parameters and Hamaker constant. Theoretical analysis and numerical simulation indicate that the Bradley model is identical to the Hamaker hypotheses-based adhesion model. The relationships between the parameters of the interatomic potential and that of the interfacial potential are confirmed.
