the line-of-sight(LOS)has to be within the allowable range of the IR seeker field-of-view(FOV). In this paper
the THAAD kinetic kill vehicle(KKV)is studied
and a new side window orientation scheme is put forward to adjust the KKV attitude angles according to the LOS angles. The attitude and divert thrusters are activated in pulse mode. To apply the controller in continuous form to attitude control
the pulse-width pulse-frequency(PWPF)modulation is introduced to control the thrusters firing. The time-scale separation technique is chosen to synthesize the control law during side window detection maneuver
and the PWPF modulator is used to modulate the continuous control signal to discrete one. Simulation result shows that when the seeker works in track mode
the proposed control scheme keeps the roll rate as zero
and the roll angle unchanged
while the pitch and yaw angles track the attitude command accurately during the whole side window orientation process.
