A new partial auto-cascade heat pump(NPACHP)was proposed in this study. By adjusting the auto-cascade ratio
the NPACHP can obtain the safe discharge temperature of the compressor(≤120 ℃)and the required water temperature(55 ℃). The performance of the NPACHP system was calculated with Matlab and refrigerants property database Refprop 7.1 of NIST
and the factors influencing the discharge temperature of the compressor and the COP were analyzed. The best running state of the NPACHP was also determined. The results show that the NPACHP can reduce the discharge temperature of the compressor by about 30 ℃. The compressor discharge temperature can drop to 120 ℃ and the COP can be 2.214 when the auto-cascade ratio of the NPACHP is 0.717
the mass fraction of R22 is 0.28 and the outlet temperature of the condenser is 55 ℃.
