To realize a practical and effective optimum design of rod system in double toggle mechanical press
variable sequential combination response surface methodology(VSCRSM)is proposed to solve the multiple objective optimization
then the mathematic models are established. The optimal design variables and their ranges are sequentially combined and set
and response surface methodology is repeatedly employed. The optimization results show that VSCRSM enables to decrease the minimum of the objective function by 15.85%
compared with the initial design
and by 5.8%
compared with the flexible tolerance genetic algorithm. VSCRSM confines the error of the slider stroke as 0.09%
thus the problem is solved that the error is beyond limited range in the initial design and the flexible tolerance genetic algorithm.
